CAD Technician (2D)

Hertford

£30,000 to £40,000 + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Pension + Life Assurance 4x Salary + BUPA (After One Years’ Service) + Expenses paid on site visits

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Travel requirements once per week averaging, including occasional site travel to manufacturing sites in Thetford.

Design Engineer required for a well-known market leading manufacturer in their industry. This is a varied role where you will be working on a number of projects for clients across various industries and sectors.

The successful candidate will have previous 2D design experience using AutoCAD LT. You will need to be from a mechanical design background with fabrication experience, being able to breakdown drawings to assembly level. Those with experience of sheet metals or steelworks would be advantageous. Having a CSCS card would also be advantageous.

The Role:

*2D design of sheet metal fabrications.
*Working in a design team of 4, reporting to design manager.
*Working on a variety of bespoke projects.
*Liaising with and advising clients on site visits, completing surveys.
*Working on several projects at one time, between the value of £5,000 to £500,000.
*Passing on finished designs to production, ensuring designs are broken down to a level of assembly.
*Liaise with the sales team for new project take-on.
*All designs are fully conceptual and original.
*Cradle to Grave project management from concept to installation.
*Liaising between the design office and manufacturing sites in Thetford.
*Use of the company pool cars for site visits.

The Candidate:

*You will have previous 2D design experience using AutoCAD LT.
