Design Engineer (Manager)
£40,000 to £50,000 DOE + Pension + Holiday (Increasing with Service) + Bank Holidays + Paid Days off during Christmas Break
Occasional Travel for Site Surveys

To apply for the role you must currently be a design manager or a design engineer with leadership experience. Applicants will ideally transfer from an engineering/manufacturing background. Candidates from lightweight structures, fabrication and/or sheet metal industries are encouraged to apply. You must have proven experience of 2D and 3D design product design, NPD and 3D prototyping.
The successful Design Manager will report into the Production Director, you will be responsible for the overall management of the design department. You will oversee a small team of 5 design engineers/CAD technicians and be responsible for allocation of their workload and maintaining quality standards. You will be involved with the full product lifecycle and liaise closely with internal departments, clients, architects and sub-contractors to final sign off. You will work closely with the production team for New Product Development and to resolve any issues on the shop floor. You will also be responsible for managing the department’s CAD systems including upgrades and licensing.

The Design Manager:
*Day to day management of the Design Department
*Overseeing a team of 5 Design Engineers/CAD Technicians
*Involvement throughout the full product lifecycle to final sign off
*Liaising with production department to resolve technical issues and for NPD
*2D and 3D design using Raytheon and Inventor packages
The Successful Design Manager:
*Must currently be a Design Manager or Design Engineer with leadership experience
*Will ideally transfer from an engineering/manufacturing background
*Must have proven experience of 2D and 3D design product design, NPD and 3D prototyping.
*Candidates transferring from a sheet metal or fabrication background will have a considerable advantage.
