Engineering Buyer

St John’s Wood, North West London

£40,000 + Private Healthcare + Pension + 22 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Life Assurance + Salary Reviews

9am to 5pm Monday to Friday

Engineering Buyer required for a very successful and well established business providing consulting and supply chain solutions on a global basis. This is a new position due to expansion and is a great opportunity for an experienced Buyer to be an integral part of a growing team.

To apply for the role applicants need to hold a degree in business, economics, engineering or science based subjects and be an experienced buyer in engineering. Ideally applicants will have experience purchasing machinery and equipment from suppliers in Europe and Asia. You need to demonstrate excellent negotiation skills and along with supplier relationships. Some travel will be required.

Based in the London office in the Engineering Department, you will operating within a small team responsible for the procurement of spare parts and assemblies for manufacturing industries in the Middle East. You will also source products from Europe and the Far East. You will be liaising with manufacturing clients in the FMCG sector and will be the single point of contact between the customer and the engineering team. Making improvements in cost control to maximise profits will also be part of this role.

The Role in Brief:

*Procurement of Spare Parts and Assemblies for Manufacturing Industries in the Middle East

*Ensure the best vendors are chosen meet the specifications.

*Negotiate prices.

*Implement cost control and improvement programmes.

*Ensure excellent working relationships with all suppliers.


The Person Required:

*Degree in business, economics, engineering or science based subjects.

*Experienced buyer in engineering.

*Experience purchasing machinery and equipment from suppliers in Europe and Asia

*Excellent communication skills.

*Ideally worked in FMCG.

*Flexible with travel when needed.

*IT literate
