Manufacturing Engineer (Production)

Braiswick, Colchester

7.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and Friday 7.30am to 12.00pm (30 minute lunch)

£28,000 - £32,000 + Contributory Pension + Social/Sports Club + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holiday

To apply for the role, candidates need to have manufacturing/production experience in a mechanical environment. Candidates need to ideally hold a relevant qualification although those with experience will definitely be considered.

You’ll be part of a team of manufacturing and lean engineers where you’ll be responsible for supporting production practices to ensure products are manufactured on time and to the correct specification. You’ll ensure correct equipment is in place, processes are being followed whilst suggesting any improvements. You’ll always look to reduce waste, create routes using ERP, develop SOP’s and assist in new product development activities. You’ll work closely with the shop floor, maintenance and other departments with the company.

This is a great chance for engineers looking for a role that offers a lot of variation. The role has scope to get involved in tasks such as capital improvements, jig & fixture design and attend exhibitions.

The role in brief:

*Part of a team ensuring production processes are in place to ensure successful manufacturing

*Using ERP to create work flow.

*Get involved in LEAN activities

*Identify and suggest any improvements needed in capital kit

*Generally support the operatives and ensure all SOP’s are adhered too

The person required:

*Experience in a production/manufacturing role in a mechanical environment

*Ideally hold a relevant qualification

*Able to work along and in a team

*Improvements focussed and understand

*Able to read engineering drawings
