Manufacturing Engineer required for an internationally recognised company who work largely, but not exclusively, in the aerospace and defence sector. This is a great opportunity created through company growth for a Manufacturing Engineer to join in a brand new role they can truly make their own.
To apply for this role you will have experience in a similar role in ANY manufacturing background. You will ideally come from a mechanical and/or electronics background and candidates with experience in the aerospace industry and an understanding of the AS9100 accreditation will hold an advantage though this is NOT essential. You will ideally have experience working with lean ideology however the company can offer development on this such as working towards your Kaizen green belt.
This is a brand new role which will be focused on the manufacturing processes of both new and existing products. You will spend around 70% of your time working with pre existing products however the company are looking for someone to make significant improvements to their manufacturing processes using lean ideology such as Kaizen techniques.
Approximately, the other 30% of your time will be spent working with new and one off products which will involve managing and designing jigs and fixtures using AutoCAD. The company have new equipment being installed in the coming months to accommodate the manufacturing of different products and you will play a key role in getting these set up and organising their layout to make the process as lean as possible. Time split between the production floor and the office is likely to be equal however, as this is a new role, the successful candidate will be given flexibility with this.
