Plymouth

Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week (Flexible working, core hours to be covered).
Core Hours: 9am – 3pm Mon-Thurs and 9am – 2pm on Friday.
Manufacturing Manager required for a highly successful manufacturer offering long term stability, fantastic benefits, with an opportunity to take ownership over critical business functions and strategy. The Manufacturing Manager:
- Reporting directly into the Managing Director, you will also have three direct reports.
- Manufacturing Leadership: Design, develop, and execute a manufacturing strategy aligned with company goals. Ensure flexibility, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness to meet customer demands.
- Operational Management: Oversee the 24-hour production process, managing 400+ staff through a team of three shift managers. Ensure production targets are met while maintaining safety, quality, and budget standards.
- Team Development: Provide leadership and coaching to the production management and supervisory teams. Foster a people-centered management culture focused on development, health, safety, and employee welfare.
- Quality & Customer Focus: Collaborate with the quality department to ensure customer satisfaction and deliver high-quality products with zero complaints.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives that enhance productivity, improve cost control, and ensure timely delivery. Lead future planning efforts and ensure the delivery of Continuous Improvement (CIP) activities.
The Successful Manufacturing Manager:
Essential:
- A degree or equivalent in leadership, management, or engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven experience in managing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive strategic initiatives.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of sheet metal, paint processes, and assembly operations.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing (OEE, Kanban, SMED, TPM, 5S).
- Automotive or First Tier Automotive experience.
