Product Design Engineer
£30,000 to £35,000 + Pension + 23 days holiday + Bank Holidays
Product Design Engineer required for a highly successful and renowned company who manufacture a wide variety products for global businesses. This is an excellent time to join the business as they are currently in the process of developing a new product range and investing heavily in research and development.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a mechanical/product design capacity, any electrical knowledge is advantageous but not essential. Those who hold a degree or equivalent in relevant discipline are encouraged to apply. It is essential you have a working understanding of SolidWorks and excellent communication.
You will be working within a small, diverse team and you will work collaboratively on the company’s generic product range but also on their bespoke products and designs. As they expand their product portfolio you will heavily involved in R&D projects; this involves working in a consultancy capacity with customers and also communicating with those on the shop floor.
As a product designer you will manage projects from cradle to grave, ensuring designs can be integrated onto the shop floor, fabricating prototypes and conducting lab tests where required. You will be accountable for generating BOM’s and product literature and documentation. It is essential that ALL products meet user aesthetical expectations.
