£42,000 - £52,000 + Pension + Holiday

Safety Manager required for a successful global chemical company. This is a great opportunity to join a growing site where safety is paramount in the ongoing development. You’ll play a key part in shaping safety as the business continues to evolve.

To apply for the role, applicants need to have a proven track record in modern safety management techniques, ideally in a high hazard production/industrial environments, knowledge of mining, production and logistics processes would be advantageous. It’s paramount the successful applicant can liaise with all stakeholders associated with the business to convey information and implement changes. Demonstrable knowledge and application of relevant information particularly Mine Regulations 2014 and experience of managing a team of people.

Reporting to the Head of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality, you will be a valuable addition to the team in continually improving health and safety at the site. You’ll provide guidance to all members in the business and implement risk management programs. You’ll also be focussing on planning the safety strategy and ensure all required data and record keeping standards are being met.

The role in brief:

*Oversee and implement H&S at the site

*Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure H&S is adhered too and changes implemented

*Provide leadership to the site on all H&S matters

*Represent the company externally and represent the company at court if required

*Investigate and implement changes if any incidents/accidents occur

*Monday to Friday

The person required:

*Experience in safety in a high hazard production/industrial setting, knowledge of mining or a similar setting will be highly advantageous

*NEBOSH certificate

*Demonstrate leadership skills

*Confident communicating to all stakeholders

*The candidate should be at least a chartered member of IOSH or working towards this level.
