Senior Engineer (Design/Industrial Process Equipment)

Midlands

£50,000 to £90,000 DOE + 25 Days Holiday and Bank Holiday + Company Pension + Laptop + Phone

Senior Engineer required for a market leading, international engineering company who are committed to supporting their customers in tackling air pollution control issues.

The successful Senior Engineer will hold a background in either chemical or mechanical engineering and will need a basic knowledge of organic chemistry. This role would suit candidates who have experience working with industrial equipment related to air movement and heating. For example, experience working with combustion systems, air, liquid or waste incinerators, ovens, furnaces, or similar.

The successful candidate will take a lead role in overseeing the engineering and design activities within the business. You will be responsible for overseeing complex customer enquiries to understand requirements and produce appropriate solutions in both a process and a mechanical sense.

You can expect to spend approximately 75% of your time involved in the design of processes and equipment. The successful candidate will be required to travel to customer sites when required. The company work on an international basis and travel would typically be for 2-3 days at a time, on average up to 4 weeks over the course of a year.

The Senior Engineer Role:

· Ownership of engineering and design requirements

· Process calculations and design of equipment and ductwork systems

· Creating P&IDs

· Production of detailed equipment specifications

· Working with design draughtspeople to produce layouts and detailed equipment designs

· Writing Control descriptions

· Considerations of equipment size, materials of construction etc. particularly for

· Troubleshooting on site

The Senior Engineer Candidate:

· Chemical or mechanical engineering background

· Basic knowledge of organic chemistry

· Experience working with industrial equipment related to air movement and heating

· Senior engineer or engineer wanting to progress

· Total involvement in plant and equipment design
