Technical Author

Stroud – Office Based

£35,000 to £45,000 DOE + 21 Days Holiday (Rising to 26 Days) + Bank Holidays + NEST Pension

Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30

Technical Author required for a well-established manufacturer who have been in business for 50 years. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly, family-run business where you will play an integral member of the team.

This role would suit a Technical Author from any manufacturing or technical background. Technical writing experience is essential for this role and you will need experience with Authoring Tools such as Adobe FrameMaker (or similar). Any additional experience with illustration or photography would be advantageous but not essential.

You will work closely with engineers and production staff to develop internal files such as assembly guides and test procedures to support the production lifecycle.

The Technical Author Role:

· Create, develop and manage documentation to support the production of electronic assemblies using Adobe FrameMaker
· Maintain and update quality management procedure
· Creation of illustrated content using Corel Draw

The Technical Author Candidate:

· Experience as a Technical Author within any industry
· Experience with authoring tools
· Ideally familiar with illustration tools and CAD software
