Tooling Engineer (Toolmaker)


£25,000 to £30,000 DOE + Holiday + Bank Holidays + Pension + EARLY FINISH FRIDAY

Tooling Engineer/Toolmaker required for well established company who are well renowned in their industry. They offer stable employment and a friendly work environment for the successful candidate.

The role would suit mechanically biased engineers from a tooling/workshop background. The successful applicant will have proven turning/milling experience and will be confident to repair and modify casting tooling. Applicants will ideally be a time served mechanical engineer or equivalent.

Working within the workshop amongst a small team, the role will primarily involve working to engineering drawings, hand sketches and written instruction for the modification and repair of tools, spares, ancillary equipment, jigs and presses. The successful candidate will work to a production plan and prioritise jobs accordingly. Occasionally, there will be a requirement to get involved in facilities and machinery maintenance.

The company supply primarily to a range of market leading OEM’s in the automotive industry and have a brand associated with quality. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small but friendly team within a well established company who offer security for the successful applicant.

The Role:

* Repair of casting tools, spares, ancillary equipment and presses

* Remodification of moulds to increase functionality.

* Working to a production plan to prioritise jobs and updating job record cards.

*Occasional facilities/machinery maintenance as required


The Person:

* Either an experienced toolmaker or candidates from a machining background.

* Will ideally have experience working with lathes, surface grinders, milling machines and/or CNC machinery

*Applicants from a foundry/casting or press toolmaking background will have a considerable advantage

*Will ideally be a time served mechanical engineer or equivalent
