What is your current role at Luton Bennett? Principle Consultant
What did you join Luton Bennett as? A Graduate Recruitment Consultant. I progressed to a full scale Recruitment Consultant then a Senior Consultant and then up to my current role.
Why did you join Luton Bennett?
After graduating from university, I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do career-wise but I was keen to find somewhere that allowed me to achieve my own personal goals. Working at Luton Bennett has given me the financial independence and freedom to achieve these whilst continuously developing my skills.
What’s your story?
I graduated in the summer of 2017 with a first class degree in History from Royal Holloway, University of London. I moved back to Bristol and back to my family home but was keen to gain the same level of independence I had whilst living in London so was looking find graduate schemes which offered great earning potential to enable this.
I had heard of pursuing a career in recruitment prior to this point but besides the earning potential had only a limited understanding of what this entailed. My interview with Luton Bennett was not the first interview with a recruitment agency I had attended, however, seeing how friendly the team was and how the company focused on training and developing their staff to reach their full potential instantly grabbed my attention.
During my interview I met a colleague who, whilst only a couple of years older than me, appeared to be achieving all my personal goals with the financial freedom the role offered – it was an easy yes!
In just over a year of working at Luton Bennett I had progressed to a Senior Recruitment Consultant and within another year I had progressed again to become a Principal Consultant. More importantly, I was achieving the goals that were personal in my own life: I was living in the centre of Bristol in my own place and I had fantastic memories of holidays and trips made possible by working at Luton Bennett.
Working in recruitment is no ‘easy option’ and it can definitely be hard at times but it also has the ability to make you feel as though you can achieve anything you want to and whatever your own personal goals are it can definitely help you achieve them.
